On June 3-6, 2022, the second edition of the bicycle rally along the cross-border route of Budra – Šakiai took place.
Last year, the participants of the bicycle trip covered the route starting in Lithuania and ending the expedition in Budry. This year the route has been reversed. The over 200 km long rally started on Friday, June 3 at the agritourism farm “Ciche Woda” in the Budry commune. The next stop on the bicycle route was the hydroelectric power plant in Ołownik. Then the route led through Dąbrówka, with a historic church with stunning stained glass windows. The further journey took place through the Skaliskie Forests. Part of the route ran through the very heart of the forests, i.e. the Brożajcki Canal. The participants of the rally also visited the pyramid in Rapa, from where they went to Gołdap overnight. On Saturday, cyclists rode about 100 kilometers from Gołdap to Wyłkowyszki in Lithuania. The third day of the rally is a 60-kilometer section entirely in Lithuania. Start in Wyłkowyszki and a great finish at the Zanavykai Museum, which ended the 3-day trip in fine weather and in a wonderful atmosphere.
